Saudi’s Munjz raises over $1 million in a Pre-Series A for its home services marketplace

Dammam-based home services marketplace Munjz has closed its Pre-Series A round led by Vision Ventures, the Saudi VC announced last week. Al Khathlan Holding Co. and Seedstars also participated in the round. The size of the investment was not disclosed but we’ve learned it was over $1 million.

Founded in 2017 by Abdullah Aldaij and Ali Alhammali, Munjz provides different types of home and office maintenance services including cleaning, plumbing, and electrical works across 13 cities in the Kingdom through its mobile app. The app, Munjz says, allows users to book its services in less than a minute, offering a seamless booking experience.

All the handymen and vendors available on its platform, the startup says, are pre-screened and licensed professionals to do their jobs.

Abdullah Aldaij, the co-founder and CEO of Munjz, speaking to MENAbytes said that they’re planning to expand their reach to cover 25 cities in the Kingdom and then potentially expand to other GCC markets too.

The startup plans to use the investment for this expansion and team development. It will also use a part of the investment for Munjz Academy that will train Saudi technicians to onboard them to Munjz’s platform.

“With this plan and approach, we strive to reduce the number of general labor and to increase the number of Saudi technicians. Munjz will train and help them earn decent income as a freelancer,“ said Abdullah, in a conversation with MENAbytes.

Ajeer and B8ak are the other two Saudi home services startups that have raised investments in the last two years.
