Windows 10 is one of the most widely used computer operating systems in the market. Microsoft has been ruling the distributed OS market for decades and Windows 10 is by far one of the most radically different operating system iterations that the company has brought out. The best feature of Windows 10 is how you can adapt to laptops and tablets simultaneously without losing functionality.
Through the years, the Operating systems have undergone a lot of design changes, but one of the features that have remained constant is the Taskbar.
The taskbar has been overhauled many times, but the basic idea and functionality are still the same.
One of the things we all do when we use a smaller Windows 10 laptop or machine, is that we enable the Taskbar to auto-hide. This increases the screen real estate that we get and as such, does not distract us with blinking notifications as well.
In this tutorial, we will show you how you can hide the Taskbar on Windows 10.
Step 1. Boot up your Windows 10 Desktop/Laptop.
Step 2. Now, in the Cortana Search bar, type in ‘Settings‘.
Step 3. In the Settings window, click on Personalization.
Step 4. In the left pane, click on the ‘Taskbar‘ option.
Step 5. Turn on the ‘Auto-hide Taskbar in Desktop mode‘ and ‘Auto Hide Taskbar in Tablet Mode‘.
Now, if the Taskbar is not auto-hiding, this is what you can do.
Step 1. Right Click on the Task Bar and open the Task Manager.
Step 2. Click on ‘more details‘ to reveal the entire Task Manager window.
Step 3. Left Click on the ‘Windows Explorer‘ process under the processes tab.
Step 4. Click on the ‘Restart‘ button.
Your Task Bar settings should now reactivate.
